2009-2010 STATE EQUALIZATION AID 10-PAYMENT OPTION

10-PAYMENT OPTION - Under s. 121.15(1g) of the Wisconsin Statutes, school districts can elect to receive
their Equalization Aid in ten payments throughout the year, if a written request is submitted to
the Department by May 1st for the following year. If a district selects this option, they are
required to pay the Department of Public Instruction earnings determined by the
Department of Administration that would be accummulated if aid had been paid using the regular
Equalization Aid Payment Schedule.

s. 121.15(2)(a) Wis. Stats. No state aid
payments may be made to any district until the annual report under s.120.18
has been filed with the department. (b) No state aid payments may be made to
any district in the months of November to June until the budget and
membership report under s. 121.05 is filed with the department. (c) If the
state superintendent notifies a school district that a state aid payment may
be withheld under par. (a) or (b), he or she shall
notify each member of the school board or the school district clerk, the
school district clerk shall promptly distribute a copy of the notice to each
member of the school board. |
