DPI VISTA Newsletters


DPI VISTA Monthly

The DPI VISTA Monthly is a newsletter written by and for DPI VISTA members in the state of Wisconsin. In each month's installment, one can find partnership-building advice, money-saving tips, special events taking place across the state, interviews with DPI VISTAs, and other relevant information.

New! TheFebruary 2012 Newsletter is all about surviving a cold Wisconsin winter while ensuring partnerships continue to thrive! And it contains its usual dose of advice and resources.

TheJanuary 2012 Newsletter helps VISTAs start off the new year right- with good partnership practices, reflections from recent trainings and conferences and a new section just for supervisors!

Our December 2011 Newsletter gives you a sneak peak inside the life of DPI VISTA staff, helps you think about how you are evaluating your partnerships and as usual, shares some promising practices from across the state.

It's a double issue! Get to know your fellow VISTAs better, learn about some important new resources, and get some advice with dealing with your challenges in our October/November 2011 Newsletter.

It's a new year for the DPI VISTA Project! Here's our September 2011 Newsletter with resources, recommended reading, and advice from project staff.

Check out our August 2011 Newsletter, the last one of the 2010-2011 service year! Lots of advice for incoming and outgoing VISTAs.

The July 2011 Newsletter welcomes 34 summer VISTAs to the project and says goodbye to our July VISTAs. It also contains the usual dose of advice, resources and funtivities!

The June 2011 Newsletter features an article from a VISTA alum and advice on making the most of the remainder of your VISTA term.

The May 2011 Newsletter focuses on sustainability, evaluation and reflection. And as always, advice from Brittany and Mike, and budget friendly activities from Amber!

The April 2011 Newsletter offers tips on volunteer management, stratgies for evaluating your programs, and as always, useful online resources and grant opportunities.

The March 2011 Newsletter is full of good advice: on battling the late winter blues, on thinking about life after VISTA, on strengthening your actions teams, and on staying focused on your work plan.

Our February 2011 Newsletter contains some new features including a movie review and a supervisor's corner and returning favorites including good ideas and advice from Brittany and Mike!

The January 2011 Newsletter wishes all VISTAs and Supervisors a Happy New Year with tips on creating good action teams, grant opportunities, and a new VISTA to VISTA interview.

Our December 2010 Newsletter shares some advice from second year VISTAs, offers promising practices from across the state, and thoughts on building successful action teams.

The October/November 2010 Newsletter is a double issue with double the partnership ideas, double the resources for your work, and double the insight from your fellow VISTAs!

The September 2010 Newsletter is full of insight and wisdom from former DPI VISTAs for new members. Also featured are ideas and strategies for jumping right into partnerships!

The August 2010 Newsletter welcomes 12 new VISTAs to the project and contains resources and suggestions to start the year off successfully.

Our July 2010 Newsletter says goodbye and good luck to Sylvia Sedrak and Stephanie Dorman as they end their terms of service this month and offers resources and plenty of good ideas for building great partnerships!

Happy New Year from the DPI VISTA Project! Our January 2009 newsletter highlights the strengths of serving in small rural and large urban settings as well as the usual resources and grant opportunities.

In the December 2008 newsletter, we welcome three new VISTAs to our project! We also share promising practices from staff at DPI, VISTAs in the field, and communities across the world.

In the November 2008 newsletter, Ruth Anne Landsverk shares some ideas to connect your Action Team to other school initiatives. We also get to know two of our VISTAs, Casey Gauthier and Chris Briggs, a little better!

The October 2008 VISTA newsletter has a new look! VISTA Casey Gauthier is serving as editor. This month you can find information on grant opportunities as well as learn some valuable tips for recruiting parents to your Action Team!

The September 2008 Newsletter will help prepare VISTAs and Supervisors for the upcoming Orientation in Madison. Additionally, Ruth Anne Landsverk offers some advice on recruiting parents for your Action Teams!

In the August 2008 issue, we wish twelve VISTAs luck as they complete their service. We also welcome 12 new VISTAs to our project and share some insights and words of wisdom as they begin serving with Wisconsin schools and communities.

The July 2008 newsletter shares important resources on sustainability as many of our VISTAs are ending their service in the next month. Also, Michael Castaneda shares his reflections from the past year of service in Milwaukee.

March 2008 Newsletter

February 2008 Newsletter
In this latest newsletter, read about a promising practice at Adams Friendship Middle School. Also, Ruth Anne Landsverk shares some tips on how to get community members involved on your ATP!

January 2008 Newsletter
In this newsletter, VISTAs Lauren Jakubowski and Lacey Donatell interview each other and Betsy suggests some VISTA specific New Year's resolutions!

In the December 2007 letter, Ruth Anne Landsverk reveals a new mapping tool to help VISTAs connect their partnerships. We also get to know a little more about our newest VISTA member- Jen Gaul!

In the November 2007 newsletter we say good bye and good luck to one of our VISTAs, Bev Schwantes, as she finishes her year of service. We also highlight some promising practices taken from the field!
