Libraries, Technology & Community Learning |
Division for Libraries, Technology, and Community LearningStaff at the Department of Public Instruction's Division for Libraries, Technology and Community Learning (DLTCL) welcome you to our Web page. We are here to serve the life-long learning and information needs of all Wisconsin citizens from preschoolers to senior citizens. Listed on the left are some key programs of the division. Division teams and service areas are listed below. We look forward to serving you. Please let us know if you have any comments or suggestions. Richard Grobschmidt,
Our mission is to work with communities to ensure learner success and stronger communities through family-school-community partnerships. The mission is directly related to Department Goals of Lifelong Learning and Partnerships. The DPI will promote lifelong learning so that individuals value learning, learn how to learn, demonstrate effective communication, thinking and problem solving, enjoy the quality of life, are fulfilled, experience the joy of learning, and contribute to and benefit from the intergenerational transmission of culture. The DPI will support the educational role and function of local education agencies (and organizations), families, and communities to increase local capacity to improve and ensure learning opportunities for the children and citizens of the community.
The Information Technology Team is committed to streamlining data collections, using data that is collected once for the multiple purposes for which it was intended, developing cost effective applications, and the presentation of information that serves, students, parents, school district staff, and teachers.
The Instructional Media and Technology Team provides leadership, service, and advocacy for equitable access to and effective use of information, resources, and instructional technology in Wisconsin PK-12 schools to ensure successful lifelong learning.
The Public Library Development Team provides leadership, advocacy, expert assistance, planning, coordination, and funding for the improvement of library systems and public libraries so that Wisconsin residents will have convenient and equitable access to knowledge and information resources. The Reference and Interlibrary Loan Team provides timely reference and interlibrary loan services and materials to public library systems and state agency and institution employees and libraries.
